A clear agreement for using Visit Explained.

Who may use the service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these terms and the health-data processing consent.

Recording responsibility

You are responsible for obtaining all legally required permission before recording. Everyone currently participating must agree. If another person joins, pause or stop until that person agrees. You must also follow the healthcare facility’s recording policies and applicable law. Visit Explained does not independently verify consent.

What the service does

Visit Explained helps you understand and revisit what your care team discussed. It can transcribe a consented conversation, create a plain-language recap, and answer questions using the recorded transcript as evidence.

Not medical or emergency care

Visit Explained is not a physician, medical advice service, emergency service, diagnosis tool, or clinical decision-support system. It does not decide treatment or tell you to start, stop, increase, decrease, or change medication. Contact your healthcare team for medical judgment and treatment decisions.

If you may be having a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number now, or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for Visit Explained.

Errors and original instructions

Speech recognition and AI can make mistakes, including with names, medications, doses, dates, numbers, speakers, and negations. Always compare important information with the original conversation and instructions from your care team. Your care team’s original instructions control.

Acceptable use

Do not record anyone without required permission, access another person’s account, interfere with security, upload unlawful content, misuse the service to make clinical decisions for others, or use it to provide emergency or professional medical services.

Your account and data

Keep your account credentials private. You may delete saved conversations, clear Timeline chat, and delete your account. Account deletion is intended to permanently remove associated Visit Explained application data and account access, subject to limited operational records the law or security needs may require.

Service availability

We work to keep Visit Explained available, but the service may be interrupted, changed, or unavailable. Do not rely on it as the only copy of important instructions or for time-sensitive care. The service is provided without a guarantee that every transcript or response will be complete or error-free.
